There will be no Coke products at the MassKara Festival 2017, as the Bacolod City Council showed solidarity with the Sugar Industry by banning the Coca-Cola. During the festival days from October 1 -22, the sponsorship and sale of all the Coke Products are banned in the Bacolod City.
We are not through yet.
Because the Bacolod City Council unanimously approved the resolution of banning the Coke products presented by the councilor Cindy Rojas on Tuesday.
Why Coca-Cola Banned?
Earlier this year, the local sugar Planters protested against the Coca Cola Femsa Phillipines Inc. because they were using the synthetic High Fructose Corn Syrup HFCS instead of their locally produced sugar.
The sugar planters have the opinion that the usage of HFCS is destroying the sugar industry and the coke products should be banned until they use they quit High Fructose Corn Syrup.
Earlier in the Panaad Festival, the entire Negros Occidental Province boycotted the Coca-Cola for the same reason as well. This is the second time in the year, that the locals are protesting against the top brand in a big time.
